We’re an international company dealing with international emails, so we appreciate that location matters! This is why, if you’re sending from the EU, you have the choice to send via our European servers. We have servers based in Frankfurt (Germany) and London (UK), as well as Fremont (CA), Newark (NJ), Singapore and Sydney (Australia).
If you are based in Europe, and would like your emails to always be sent via our EU servers, this means that your emails can be sent faster. This is especially important if you’re relying on our service to send large quantities of emails. We also have data storage facilities in Amsterdam (as well as in Chicago and Reston) so by connecting to these servers, you can bypass the US entirely.
Generally speaking, your emails will be sent via the servers that are geographically closest to you, but to ensure you’re sending and storing via our EU servers, you can make a quick change in your SMTP settings. In your mailing programme’s settings, your host name is more than likely mail.smtp2go.com at the moment. If you change it to mail-eu.smtp2go.com we’ll do the rest and your emails will be rerouted immediately.
When you sign up from the EU, your account will automatically be handled by our Amsterdam data centre.
Our EU service doesn’t stop there! We know how important it is to have a reliable customer service team in a time zone that suits you, so we have customer support staff based in the EU too. Teresa and Louise are based in Madrid, and Charlotte works from London. They are also a multi-lingual team, who speak English, Spanish and French, so if English isn’t your first language, don’t worry, ¡estamos aquí para ayudarle!
“Nous parlons SMTP!”
If you’d like to know more about our servers and how their location can affect your setting, or to verify your data processing and storage location, please feel to get in touch with us via chat or email.
