Here we chat with long-standing customer Ramon Vazquez, who’s the CTO of Wendco: the fast food restaurant company that operates 20 Wendy’s outlets in Puerto Rico. They are also the co-owners of Sizzler, Red Lobster and Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants. It’s Ramon’s job to head up and manage the technology projects across all of the companies in the group. And that’s no mean feat.

Our company comprises four legal entities that manage a total of 117 restaurants, these include Wendy’s, Applebee’s, Sizzler’s, Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden and Red Lobster. We also have a construction company and about nine real estate companies.
We have been in business for more than 40 years and are pioneers in the restaurant industry on the island (of Puerto Rico) when talking about technology. As we’re very cloud-based in most of our systems, our company has remained strong – even after a couple of devastating hurricanes and now with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, we use Office 365 for our email needs. We needed a good SMTP provider so that we could have a secure way to send emails without going through Office 365 authentication. It’s essential that our emails get to the recipients in time and without fail.
