These instructions cover the setup for older iOS-based Apple mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads. For more recent devices (iOS 12 and later), go to the updated instructions for newer iOS devices).

Step 1

Select ‘Settings’ from the main screen in your iPhone.

Step 2

Select ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’ from the Settings screen.

Step 3

If you have previously setup a mail account, your screen will appear similar to this screen. Click on the name of the account you wish to change. The account in this example is called ‘My account’.

If you have never setup a mail account, click ‘Add Account…’. If this is the case, click here for further instructions.

Step 4

Click on the name of your current SMTP server.

Important: do not change your Incoming Mail Server settings.

Step 5

Change the Host Name setting to mail.smtp2go.com. Enter your SMTP2Go SMTP user name into User Name and your SMTP password into Password.

You can find your User Name and Password by logging in to your SMTP2GO Dashboard and clicking “Settings” then “Users”.

Make sure that Use SSL is set to OFF, and that Authentication is set to Password.

Set the Server Port to 2525. You can also try using Server Port 25, 8025 or 587.

You will also need to make sure that you are sending from a domain name or an email address that you have registered with SMTP2GO.
