Integrating SMTP2GO and Magento 2

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to configure the Magento 2 application to send email using a remote SMTP Server i.e. using your SMTP2GO Account. The setup guide for integrating the older version of Magento with SMTP2GO is available here.

Step 1

Install one of the supported SMTP Extensions. We are using the SMTP Extension from MagePlaza.

Step 2

Login to your Magento Admin Panel as Administrator and click Configuration under the STORES section.

Step 3

Click the SMTP option under MAGEPLAZA EXTENSIONS.

Step 4

Go to the SMTP Configuration Options section.

Leave the SMTP Provider to the default option i.e. Choose a SMTP Provider.

Enter mail.smtp2go.com into Host.

Enter 2525 into Port. SMTP2GO’s service is also open on ports 25, 8025 and 587

Select the Login option from Authentication.

Enter your SMTP2GO username and password into Username and Password fields respectively.

Select the TLS option from Protocol.

To save your settings, click the Save Config button.

Integrating SMTP2GO and Magento 2 should be an easy, quick and, hopefully, painless process. And going forward your email delivery should be outstanding.

You can access reports directly in your SMTP2GO dashboard which will help you understand delivery successes and failures, tracking information and many more useful metrics. We’ve written some great articles outlining the features of your SMTP2GO account and we recommend taking the time to see everything we have to offer.

Should you need extra help from our award-winning support team, we are almost always available to assist. You can find support contact details in your SMTP2GO dashboard and information about retrieving your support PIN here.
