Note: It is highly recommended that Eudora 7 users upgrade to the new version. Eudora 8 has a much simplified setup process for SMTP with authentication.

Step 1

To setup Eudora 7 to send a separate login name for sending and receiving mail, you need to create multiple personalities in Eudora. One of those personalities will be used to send mail.

Select ‘Preferences…’ from the Eudora Menu.

Step 2

Select Personalities from the menu to the left.

Enter SMTP2Go as the Personality Name, then enter your SMTP Username into User Name.

Enter the following settings:
Mail Server: smtp2go is sending server (Eudora 7 has a bug that requires something to be entered in this box)
Change the SMTP Server setting to mail.smtp2go.com.

Enter your email address into the Email Address field.

Make sure that Allow authorization is enabled.

Step 3

Select Sending Mail from the menu to the left.

Enter your email address into the Email Address field.

Change the SMTP Server setting to your account’s SMTP server followed by :2525. Login to your SMTP2GO control panel to find out your SMTP server.

Make sure that Allow authorization is enabled and choose SMTP2Go as the SMTP Relay Personality.

Step 4

Select SSL from the menu to the left.

Change the SSL for SMTP drop down and choose Required (TLS).

Make sure that TLS 1.0 (Cyrus) is selected in the Standard Port SSL Negotiation section.

Make sure that TLS 1.0 is selected in the Alternate Port SSL Negotiation section.

Please note that if you have multiple personalities already setup in Eudora, you will need to go into each personality individually and change the SMTP settings. (Do this by right-clicking each personality and selecting Properties).
